So which features does Ciana get from me and which from Casey? I think we can agree the hair comes from me.

Mom gave me some of my old clothes from when I was a baby, so here are a couple of those outfits on Ciana:

Dad still dresses in the same color green. Shaun still… hmmm…

In one way, it doesn’t seem like she should be a whole month old already – the time has flown by. But in another way, it seems like we’ve known her forever and she’s changed so much – it seems a lot longer than a month.

Ciana has had a number of diaper blowouts just like any baby, but at 4 am yesterday, she showed me what projectile pooping looks, smells, and feels like… all over her monkey blanket, two diapers (the one I was changing and the new one), and the sleeve of my robe. At least the robe stopped the flying, runny poop from squirting off the end of the changing table. Casey got up and cleaned up the poo; he’s the best.

*Update a couple days later: Ciana topped her episode above by shooting her poo a good 2 feet, making it off the end of the changing table and then doing it again.

Who knew so much nasty stuff could come out of someone so sweet & adorable.

We own a super sweet camera, so we had Jeremy and Tama over to take pregnancy shots of us at 37 weeks pregnant. We turned our kitchen into a photo studio, and Casey got the camera all set up (I really need to read the book that we bought about our camera to figure out how to do ISO settings, white balance, and the like).

Here are some of my favorite shots. We took hundreds, and I’ll post a link to our Shutterfly photo book after I get that designed.

Yes, the iPhone photos were Casey’s idea. I think we need to sell them to Apple.

Smiley Pumpkin

We had a productive Halloween getting things done around the house. Took a break tonight to hang with friends and to carve a pumpkin. I like how this smiley monster turned out.

Casey and I took a 30-hours-of-driving-in-less-than-a-week roadtrip to Ohio, New York, and Pennsylvania at the beginning of October. Beautiful time for driving and being 6 months pregnant was fine for a roadtrip. Baby Valiant did great!

iPhones are really cool too! We were listening to an audio book and were so engrossed in it that we missed our exit by 15 miles. So we fired up our iPhones and took backroads to get to our destination.
